Mitzvah refers to a moral deed performed as a religious duty. As such, the term mitzvah has also come to express an act of HUMAN KINDNESS. At the Alpert JCC, we take that to the next level. We have partnered with federally funded programs, like RSVP, along with local non-profits in an effort to strengthen our community and the individuals who choose to volunteer.
Our community partnerships allow us to help you perform an act of HUMAN KINDNESS while also doing something that you enjoy. We are teamed up with over 100 different non-profit organizations, each performing in a specific niche that might be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!
Our partnership with RSVP allows us to offer Accident and Liability Insurance Coverage at no cost to volunteers over the age of 55. This coverage includes a secondary medical, automobile and $1,000,000 liability policy designed to provide portal-to-portal coverage for our volunteers. It shouldn't cost you anything to volunteer, and we want you to feel safe in your volunteer efforts. RSVP also offers some transportation reimbursement for individuals 55 and older.
